Wild Wild West Steampunk Convention 6 was held at Old Tucson Studios in Tucson, AZ over the weekend of Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th March, 2016. It was the fourth Wild Wild West Con in a row that I've provided with a mini-film festival and attendees told me that they thoroughly enjoyed starting out each day of the con with a set of great films. This year's theme was Cthulhu, so I included a set that showcased the darker side of Victoriana, led by permission to screen The Tale of the Rat That Wrote. I also added some Lovecraftian films, some humorous and one terrifying. I was particularly thrilled to be able to screen Monty and the Runaway Furnace, a long short film which is still on the regular film festival circuit. I may be the first person to bring it to a steampunk convention but I know that I won't be the last! |
